Superset Studio creates versatile, customisable sets and props that won’t go into landfill after your shoot.

Our hire pieces are built from high quality materials that hold their integrity over time. This approach allows us to repair, rethink, and repurpose our sets to meet the individual needs of your brief.

Melanie Martin

Melanie Martin is a Naarm-based spatial designer. With over ten years experience in the industry, she established Superset Studio in 2023 as a container for experimentation; exploring how the life cycle of materials used in photographic sets and short-term installations could be extended.

Melanie designs sets for photography, video, stores and events. Her fascination with solving 3D problems is matched by her love of colour, shape, materials, and the tactile process of hand-making. She collaborates widely and welcomes new project enquiries.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to our talented collaborators and friends for their contribution to the imagery used on this site; Alice Hutchison (still-life photography), Neil Prieto (talent photography), Karla Moran (styling), and Holly Harnwell (hair & make-up). Thanks also to Both Studio who created our visual identity and website.

Superset Studio acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
